Frequently Asked Questions
What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a healthcare profession that focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mechanical disorders of the muskeletal system, with special emphasis on the spine. Chiropractors use hands-on spinal manipulation and other treatments to help the body heal itself without surgery or medication. Benefits of chiropractic care include pain relief, improved mobility, better sleep, and overall improved quality of life.
What Are Adjustments?
Chiropractic adjustments are a form of manual therapy that involves applying a controlled force to a joint. Chiropractic adjustments may cause you to hear a 'crack' or 'popping' sound which is simply air being released from the joint. Chiropractic is not all 'pop's' and 'cracks', we provide other treatment options if you are not suitable for adjustments or put off by the sound!
Do Adjustments Hurt?
Chiropractic adjustments are generally painless and can provide relief for a variety of conditions. While some patients may experience mild discomfort during adjustments, it is typically short-lived and outweighed by the benefits of the treatment. Our experienced chiropractors prioritise patient comfort and will work with you to ensure a positive experience.
Are Adjustments Safe?
Chiropractic adjustments are a safe and effective way to treat a variety of conditions, including back pain, neck pain and joint pain. With proper training and experience, chiropractors can provide gentle and precise adjustments that help restore proper alignment and function to the spine.
What Do I Wear?
Loose clothing that allows for movement and can easily be removed is preferable as your chiropractor may ask you to remove items of clothing for assessment or treatment purposes. Patient gowns will be available to change into.
